Nolen, who also holds a position at Archer Aviation, will assist ZeroAvia in expediting the certification process for its 600kW electric propulsion system and hydrogen-electric powertrains. With extensive experience in safety and regulatory affairs from leading airlines like WestJet, Qantas, and American Airlines, Nolen's expertise is expected to benefit ZeroAvia's certification efforts.
Having already secured more than 2000 pre-orders, ZeroAvia is actively working towards certifying its electric propulsion system. Recently, the company achieved a key milestone by reaching consensus with the FAA on the Certification Basis for its 600kW EPS. This progress marks a significant step towards final certification with the US regulator and towards certifying its first full hydrogen-electric powertrain in collaboration with the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
