Honda recently unveiled its Next Generation Fuel Cell Module at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in the United States, following its global debut in Japan. The new module, scheduled for production in 2027, boasts significant advancements over the current Honda Fuel Cell (FC) module. It is expected to reduce production costs by half, double durability, and triple volumetric power density, showcasing Honda's commitment to innovation in sustainable transportation. As part of its hydrogen strategy, Honda is actively seeking new business partnerships to expand its hydrogen business and support its global goal of achieving zero environmental impact and carbon neutrality by 2050. The company's assistant manager of Hydrogen Solutions Development, David Perzynski, emphasized Honda's readiness to power various zero-emission products, including commercial trucking and stationary power generation, in North America. Honda has identified four key domains for the initial application of its new fuel cell module: fuel cell electric vehicles, commercial fuel cell vehicles, stationary power stations, and construction machinery. By participating in events like the ACT Expo and presenting insights on hydrogen power, Honda aims to further solidify its position in the sustainable transportation sector. During the expo, Honda showcased several zero-emission products and technologies, such as the Class 8 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Truck Concept that has been undergoing real-world testing on California roads. Additionally, the Honda Fuel Cell Power Generator, designed for supplying clean electricity to large facilities, was displayed, highlighting the versatility of Honda's fuel cell technology. The event also featured specifications of the Honda Next Generation Fuel Cell Module, the Class 8 Hydrogen Fuel Cell Truck Concept, and the Honda Fuel Cell Power Generator.
