Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated a groundbreaking Rs 1,000-crore green hydrogen plant in Tirupati in collaboration with Hero Future Energies and Rockman Industries. This innovative project combines green hydrogen with Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LPG) for industrial heating, showcasing a significant step towards industrial decarbonization. The plant, equipped with a 300 kW PEM electrolyser and powered by a 1.1 MWp rooftop solar plant, has the capacity to blend green hydrogen up to 10% in LPG and 3% in PNG. It is expected to reduce 206 TPA of Carbon Dioxide emissions and release 195 TPA of oxygen annually, highlighting its positive environmental impact. With a workforce of 2,000, the plant can produce 25-54 TPA of green hydrogen, demonstrating scalable and sustainable solutions for clean energy. This development reflects Andhra Pradesh's commitment to leading India's green energy revolution and aligns with the state's vision for clean energy transition. The Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy - 2024 aims to attract investments worth up to USD 119 billion and add over 160 GW of renewable energy capacity in the next five years. Naidu envisions Andhra Pradesh as a global hub for green hydrogen exports, leveraging its strategic advantages and industry-friendly policies to drive economic growth and promote sustainability.
