Andritz to Engineer 100 MW Green Hydrogen Plant for Rostock EnergyPort Cooperation in Germany
Key Ideas
  • Andritz to engineer a 100 MW green hydrogen plant for REPCO in Rostock, Germany.
  • The plant will utilize HydrogenPro's pressurized alkaline technology for the electrolysis process.
  • Scope includes green hydrogen production plant, purification systems, storage facilities, and a filling station.
  • Commissioning of the plant is scheduled for 2027, subject to the investment decision in mid-2025.
Andritz, a technology group, has secured an order from Rostock EnergyPort Cooperation (REPCO) to engineer a 100 MW green hydrogen plant in Rostock, Germany. REPCO, a joint venture of RWE Generation, EnBW Neue Energien, RheinEnergie, and Rostock Port, plans to proceed with the supply of the plant upon an investment decision in mid-2025. Andritz will employ HydrogenPro's pressurized alkaline technology for the electrolysis process in the plant, which is expected to be delivered on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis. The project scope includes the green hydrogen production plant, offsites, utilities, purification and compression systems, storage facilities, and a hydrogen filling station. The commissioning of the plant is targeted for 2027. This initiative marks a significant step towards advancing green hydrogen production and contributes to the transition to sustainable energy sources.
