The Governor of Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa, and the Regional Governor of Biobío, Rodrigo Díaz, are set to strengthen ties of cooperation in energy, industrial, and tourism sectors through a two-day visit. The visit signifies a history of joint work between the authorities to enhance regional development and cross-border relations. Governor Figueroa emphasized the potential for a joint future between southern Argentina and the Biobío and Araucanía regions, advocating for energy collaboration and leveraging the abundant resources in Vaca Muerta. Governor Díaz highlighted the vision for Green Hydrogen supply to the Biobío Region within the next two decades, with plans for energy exchange and market integration. A Memorandum of Understanding on Energy Matters was signed, laying out the framework for energy exchange, legal security, and technological development. The agenda includes meetings with key stakeholders such as ENAP Refinery, port terminals, tourism unions, gas companies, and industrial sectors to explore opportunities for cooperation in energy, infrastructure, and tourism. The collaborative efforts aim to capitalize on existing resources, enhance energy sustainability, and foster trade opportunities between the regions.
