Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore collaboration in the field of new and renewable energy, focusing on projects related to fuel cells, electrolyzers, and battery energy storage systems. According to a statement released by BHEL, the partnership between these two state-owned entities aims to tap into their respective strengths to work together on emerging areas within the clean energy sector. One of the key objectives of this collaboration is to support India's National Green Hydrogen Mission. ONGC, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighted that the partnership with BHEL, a prominent engineering company in India, is intended to jointly develop green hydrogen and its derivatives to drive sustainable energy innovation in the country. This initiative signifies a strategic move towards promoting green hydrogen production and utilization to meet the growing energy needs while reducing carbon footprint.
