The Chilean Ministry of Energy has unveiled its Long-Term Strategic Planning report for the 2023-2027 period, outlining three distinct scenarios: Slow Recovery, Carbon Neutrality, and Accelerated Transition. These scenarios highlight the country's shift towards renewable energy sources, particularly wind and solar photovoltaic, to meet its energy demand. With a strong focus on expanding wind generation capacity, locations like Taltal and Maule to Los Lagos have been identified for significant development. The report also predicts the development of at least 2 GW of storage capacity by 2030 to complement ongoing projects.
