A panel discussion organized by Impact Tank Namibia in Windhoek focused on creating job opportunities for Namibian youth in the green energy sector. Led by 10 Billion Strong CEO Patrick Arnold, in collaboration with the U.S. embassy and IPPR, the panel discussed job security and the growing interest in green hydrogen. Namibia's ambition to play a significant role in the green hydrogen industry by 2030 raises questions for the youth on how to participate. The emphasis was on leveraging existing skills and acquiring new ones to align with the industry's future needs. Green hydrogen, produced from sustainable sources like wind, solar, and hydropower, presents Namibia with the opportunity to emerge as a global energy leader and provide sustainable employment for the youth. Suzie Shefeni from IPPR highlighted the importance of youth involvement in the sector and encouraged them to explore diverse job opportunities beyond conventional electrical ventures. The event aimed to inspire Namibian youth to consider the green energy sector as a promising career path for the future.
