HDF Energy, a leading force in large-scale green hydrogen infrastructure, has partnered with the Department of Energy (DoE) and the Mindanao Development Authority to boost sustainable energy for a greener Philippine economy. The joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focuses on driving research and development in efficient technologies for harnessing renewable energy sources and utilizing green hydrogen for sustainable applications across the Philippines. The collaboration aims to accelerate the deployment of Renewstable® multi-megawatt hydrogen power plants, providing a green alternative to diesel-fueled grids in vulnerable areas. By combining solar or wind energy with water to generate electricity, HDF Energy's innovative approach mitigates greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution, ensuring clean, baseload non-intermittent power supply day and night. The signing of the MoU signifies a pivotal step in decarbonizing the Philippines' power sector and transitioning towards a more sustainable energy future. The commitment from HDF Energy, DoE, and Mindanao Development Authority to invest in renewable energy technologies, particularly hydrogen-based solutions, demonstrates a collective effort towards environmental sustainability. HDF Energy's President & Director, Mathieu Geze, expressed the importance of strong support from local and national stakeholders to make these projects a reality. With plans to establish 15 projects valued at USD 1.5 billion, including ten in Mindanao, the partnership aims to drive significant advancements in the nation's energy landscape. The French Ambassador to the Philippines highlighted the significance of energy security in strengthening ties between France and the Philippines. French companies like HDF Energy play a crucial role in developing new green technologies, supporting the DoE's vision for greener and more sustainable energy solutions. The partnership seeks to innovate and implement cutting-edge hydrogen technologies to enhance the country's energy capacity and promote cost-effective green energy solutions.
