Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Smart Energy Council of Australia in Bengaluru. The primary goal of this agreement is to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including clean energy, renewables, green hydrogen, and battery energy storage systems. The MoU, signed by John Grimes, Chief Executive of the Smart Energy Council, and K P Rudrappaiah, Managing Director of KREDL, was aimed at advancing clean energy and green hydrogen initiatives. Energy department minister K J George highlighted that this collaboration will not only strengthen Karnataka's relationship with Australian companies but also foster technology transfer, collaboration, and exploration of bilateral investment opportunities in the mentioned sectors. Gaurav Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, emphasized that the partnership will also focus on identifying commercialization prospects in clean energy, renewables, and green hydrogen. Additionally, the agreement includes provisions for KREDL to promote and support the integration of Australian technologies into local markets, contributing to the advancement of clean energy initiatives in the region.
