During the "Ministerial Dialogue: Expanding investments to triple renewable energy use and double energy efficiency" event at COP29, Peter Sztaray, the State Secretary for Security Policy at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, announced the European Union's ambitious target of reaching 20 million tons of green hydrogen usage by 2030. Sztaray acknowledged the challenges in achieving this goal solely within Europe and stressed the significance of the Green Energy Corridor project. He called for thorough examination by the European Commission and financial institutions to secure the necessary financial backing. Emphasizing cooperation, he expressed confidence in the potential for collective efforts to drive the green transition forward. Additionally, it was noted that Bulgaria has affirmed its involvement in a collaborative initiative to implement the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Europe Black Sea Green Energy Corridor project, indicating growing regional partnerships in advancing sustainable energy practices.
