In a positive development for environmentally friendly transportation, GP JOULE and eFarm are expanding the hydrogen bus fleet in North Friesland, Germany. By fall 2024, ten additional hydrogen buses will be introduced, increasing the fleet to twelve vehicles. These buses, manufactured by CaetanoBus, will be powered by locally produced green hydrogen and operated by Autokraft GmbH and Rohde Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH. The project involves 20 shareholders and companies, with eFarming GmbH playing a key role alongside community wind farms and solar parks, benefiting over 3,500 individuals in the region. GP JOULE HYDROGEN's Product Manager praised the environmental advantages of hydrogen buses, citing their quiet operation and eco-friendliness. The buses refuel at public eFarm stations in Husum and Niebüll, utilizing electricity from local wind farms. This initiative underscores a commitment to sustainable mobility and regional development.
