Enagás and its partners are embarking on the H2Med project, a hydrogen interconnection that will link Spain, Portugal, France, and Germany. The system operators from these countries will initiate a 'Call for Interest' on November 7th to gauge the demand for the project. The goal is to identify users with existing projects for hydrogen production, consumption, and marketing. This initiative will aid in assessing the market need before detailed engineering begins for this large-scale infrastructure. The registration and participation process for the consultation will be managed through a dedicated platform, with a launch webinar scheduled for November 7th to provide details. The overarching aim of H2Med is to enable the supply of renewable and cost-effective hydrogen by 2030. Spain forecasts having 12 GW of electrolyzer capacity installed by that time, aligning with the project's timeline and goals.
