The Ministry of External Affairs of India recently announced a partnership with Singapore to establish a green energy corridor in preparation for India Energy Week 2025. This collaboration aims to enhance cooperation in areas such as green hydrogen, green shipping, semiconductor, and manufacturing. The initiative reflects India's shift towards cleaner energy sources and aligns with the agenda of the upcoming energy event in New Delhi. During the visit of Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to India, the focus was on setting up a green hydrogen corridor between India and Singapore via Tuticorin and Paradip in Odisha. Additionally, several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Odisha and Singaporean organizations, including one for the development of a green hydrogen facility in Odisha. This facility, led by Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Private Limited, is projected to have an annual production capacity of 720,000 metric tonnes of green hydrogen and its derivatives. Moreover, the facility is expected to create significant employment opportunities, further contributing to India's green energy goals and strengthening bilateral relations with Singapore.
