GAIL (India) Limited, in partnership with Accelera by Cummins, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on sustainable, green energy and energy transition technologies in India. This collaboration will see the two entities leveraging Accelera's expertise in new energy businesses and GAIL's established natural gas infrastructure to explore opportunities in areas such as hydrogen production, blending, transportation, and storage. GAIL has already accelerated its 'Net Zero' targets and unveiled a 10 MW Green Hydrogen unit at its Vijaipur plant, showcasing its commitment to clean energy. The partnership aims to explore opportunities in adopting hydrogen across various sectors such as transport, power, steel, and other industries. It will focus on mono fuel or dual feed applications like LNG/Hydrogen/CNG blends, blending hydrogen in natural gas pipelines, and developing infrastructure for the production, transportation, and storage of hydrogen in India.
