Hygenco Green Energies in India has signed a term sheet with Ameropa to boost the country's green ammonia exports. The Gopalpur port project in Odisha is set to produce 600 tonne per day (TPD) of green ammonia, with plans to reach a full capacity of 1.1 million tonnes per annum by 2030. With an investment of US$2.5 billion, Hygenco aims to expand its green hydrogen plant operations across India. Amit Bansal, the CEO of Hygenco, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership in supporting decarbonization goals. The collaboration is part of India's larger ambition to lead globally in renewable energy by utilizing its abundant resources. The move towards green hydrogen and ammonia aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Ameropa, a Swiss trader, is backing Hygenco's plans to export green ammonia to international markets.
