The Government of India has initiated the National Green Hydrogen Mission to establish Centers of Excellence for Green Hydrogen through cutting-edge research and collaboration among industry, academia, and government. These centers will focus on driving innovation, improving process efficiencies, and developing new products in the field of Green Hydrogen technologies. With an allocated budget of Rs 100 crores, the mission aims to accelerate India's transition to a low-carbon economy, reduce dependence on fossil fuel imports, and position the country as a global leader in Green Hydrogen. The mission, launched with an outlay of Rs. 19,744 crores by the year 2029-30, will play a vital role in achieving energy independence and promoting sustainability. The guidelines for implementation encourage partnerships between various entities to submit proposals and work towards advancing Green Hydrogen production and utilization technologies.
