In Jordan, a significant step towards advancing green hydrogen ambitions has been taken as the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, chaired a meeting to discuss key recommendations for developing the country's green hydrogen infrastructure. The meeting focused on the first phase of a comprehensive study aimed at establishing a Green Hydrogen Industrial Complex, also known as the Green Hydrogen Hub. This study, conducted in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, outlines an action plan for the development of the Green Hydrogen Hub and improving the necessary infrastructure beyond its site. The recommendations provided in the study were based on consultations with potential green hydrogen developers in Jordan, who shared insights into their project needs and infrastructure requirements. Participants of the workshop included members of the National Committee for Green Hydrogen and high-level officials from various ministries, emphasizing the importance of government collaboration in this initiative. The workshop discussions primarily focused on creating a strategic action plan to support the growth of Jordan's green hydrogen sector, a vital component of the nation's energy transition strategy. These recommendations are aimed at positioning Jordan advantageously to leverage green hydrogen's potential, strengthening its position in the global energy market and aligning with sustainable development goals.
