The investment, supported by national and international family offices focused on impact investing, will facilitate the imminent establishment of Matteco's new catalyst and electrode factory in Paterna, Spain. This strategic move will empower Matteco to produce the equivalent of 1 gigawatt of electrodes annually. Led by CEO Iker Marcaide, the company plans to expand its production to meet the increasing demand for its next-generation catalysts and electrodes, catering to electrolyzer manufacturers globally. The funding will also fuel innovation and process optimization to maintain a leading position in the clean technology sector and support the growth of a competitive European industry in the shift towards a decarbonized economy. With an expected team expansion from 30 to 100 by 2025, Matteco aims to leverage its high-performance materials to advance the competitiveness of green hydrogen production.
