In Muscat, Oman, the Green Hydrogen Ecosystem Readiness Steering Committee, under the leadership of H E Eng Salim bin Nasser al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, and Chairman of Hydrom, has launched a digital platform named 'gHad' to monitor the progress and enhance collaboration for Oman's green hydrogen strategy. The initiative, led by Hydrom, aims to track sector-wide development and provide real-time data-driven insights to support the country's green hydrogen ambitions. Building on the outcomes of the Ecosystem Readiness Lab, the platform focuses on 26 key initiatives to achieve Oman's 2030 green hydrogen production targets, spanning areas such as permits, contractors, workforce development, logistics, and local content. Eng Abdulaziz Said al Shidhani, Managing Director of Hydrom, emphasized the importance of sector readiness and 'gHad' as a crucial tool for aligning efforts, addressing challenges, and creating conditions for successful project execution. By integrating key stakeholders from various sectors, including government entities, infrastructure providers, and regulatory bodies, 'gHad' aims to promote collaboration, governance, transparency, and data-backed decision-making. Hydrom's role as the national orchestrator of Oman's Green Hydrogen Strategy involves structuring large-scale projects, managing developer allocations, and fostering local industry development to drive economic growth and sustainability. The platform is expected to advance Oman's position in the global hydrogen economy, promote in-country value through job creation, educational resources expansion, and localized supply chain development.
