OMV Petrom is embarking on a significant investment of EUR 750 million to establish a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Renewable Diesel (HVO) production unit at the Petrobrazi refinery in Romania. This new facility, scheduled to commence operations in 2028, will have an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons of sustainable fuels. The production of SAF and HVO involves processing renewable raw materials like used vegetable oils and animal fats through advanced refining processes utilizing green hydrogen.
