Oriana Power, a key player in renewable energy, has announced plans to establish a gigawatt scale factory in India for the local production of alkaline electrolyzers and Balance of Plant (BOP) modules to support green hydrogen and e-fuels initiatives. In partnership with Splitwaters, a US-based provider of advanced alkaline electrolyzer and BOP equipment, Oriana Power aims to address the challenges faced by the green hydrogen market. The first phase of the factory, targeting 500 MW annual capacity for electrolyzer production, is scheduled to be operational by 2026. By leveraging cutting-edge electrolysis technology, the company aims to ensure highly efficient hydrogen production from renewable sources. The collaboration with Splitwaters enables Oriana Power to utilize state-of-the-art technology for clean energy carriers production at a significantly lower cost, offering a competitive edge in the market. Additionally, Oriana Power is working on Green Hydrogen and e-Fuels projects in the UK and Europe, with expectations of substantial revenue contribution from these ventures by FY2027. Anirudh Saraswat, the Chief Business Officer of Oriana Power, highlighted the strategic importance of this project in driving sustainable energy development and overcoming market challenges related to high capital costs and timelines.
