Plug Power Inc. and Allied Green Ammonia have signed a landmark purchase agreement to develop a massive green hydrogen-to-ammonia plant in Australia. Plug will provide 3 GW of electrolyzer capacity to AGA's state-of-the-art facility, powered by a 4.5 GW solar plant for zero-emission clean electricity. This move signifies a significant step towards a clean energy future, with the green ammonia production facility expected to be one of the world's largest. The project aims to produce 2,700 metric tons per day of green ammonia to meet the growing demand in Asia and Europe for various applications. Plug is set to develop a Basic Engineering and Design Package to attract investors and secure financing, with the manufacturing and delivery of PEM electrolyzers scheduled to begin in Q1 2027 post a positive Final Investment Decision by Q2 2025.
