Sembcorp Industries has joined hands with the Odisha government to develop a green hydrogen facility in India, marking a significant step towards sustainable energy production. The planned facility is expected to generate 720,000 tonnes of green hydrogen each year, offering employment opportunities for over 2,000 individuals during its operational phase. The partnership also includes exploration into the establishment of an industrial park in Odisha, showcasing a commitment to economic development in the region. The signing of non-binding memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between Sembcorp and the Odisha government took place during a state visit by Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to India, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in the green energy sector. Sembcorp expressed optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing its alignment with the sustainability agenda set by both the Singaporean and Indian governments.
