TotalEnergies and RWE have entered into agreements to acquire a 50% stake in the OranjeWind offshore wind farm, a 795 MW project in the Netherlands. TotalEnergies plans to use its share of the renewable electricity production from the wind farm to power electrolyzer projects, producing about 40,000 tons per year of green hydrogen for the decarbonization of its refineries in Northern Europe. This initiative is part of TotalEnergies' strategy to cut CO₂ emissions by around 5 million tons per year by 2030, contributing to its goal of reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by the same year. The OranjeWind project, located in the North Sea off the Dutch coast, is a significant step towards achieving TotalEnergies' decarbonization targets. It will not only produce green power and hydrogen but also support the stability of the Dutch grid with electric boilers and battery storage.
