The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has signed a significant Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Hyd’Occ, a green hydrogen facility in Port-la Nouvelle, France. The PPA entails TRIG providing renewable electricity from its onshore wind farms in Occitanie to support the green hydrogen production unit, which is expected to commence operations in 2025. This collaboration marks a crucial step towards the energy transition and the establishment of a low-carbon hydrogen industry in the region. Minesh Shah, Managing Director of TRIG, emphasized the importance of entering into lucrative PPAs to drive revenue growth and promote a sustainable future. Guirec Dufour from Qair France expressed delight in partnering with TRIG to facilitate renewable hydrogen production, highlighting the capacity of the production unit to generate 3,000 tons of renewable hydrogen annually. Nicolas Lanoue de Menthon of RES Services, acting as PPA advisor, underscored the significance of the partnership in promoting decarbonization through green hydrogen production sourced from local wind farms. Stéphane Péré, Managing Director at AREC Occitanie, praised the agreement for securing a renewable electricity supply for the Hyd’Occ project and advancing the Green Hydrogen Plan of the Occitanie Region. Overall, the collaboration between TRIG and the stakeholders in France exemplifies a positive stride towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy landscape, with a specific focus on green hydrogen production and the reduction of carbon emissions.
