ACWA Power from Saudi Arabia has signed an MoU with the Tunisian Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy to explore the development of a green hydrogen project. This project plans to produce 600,000 tons of green hydrogen annually in three stages for export to the European Union. The initiative involves establishing electricity generation units, desalination plants, electrolysis devices, and infrastructure to support the hydrogen pipeline. The project aligns with Tunisia's strategy to export over six million tons of green hydrogen to the EU by 2050, as part of the country's commitment to sustainable energy practices. The collaboration is viewed positively by officials from both sides, highlighting the potential for economic growth, job creation, and a greener future through the utilization of renewable resources.
