The Innovative Manufacturers Center (IMC) in Central Pennsylvania has been granted funding to support small- and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) in adopting technology and transitioning to green energy manufacturing. IMC will participate in the U.S. Department of Energy's SMART-PA program and the Appalachian Regional Commission's Appalachian Regional Initiative for Stronger Economies (ARISE) fund. These programs aim to help manufacturers in the region improve productivity, increase competitiveness, and shift to clean energy. Resources provided include technology assessments, technical assistance, mini-grants, workforce training, supply chain mapping for green energy opportunities, and support for manufacturing green innovations like hydrogen power systems and electric vehicles. IMC encourages manufacturers in the 12-county Central PA region to connect with them for support and to explore grant opportunities. Established in 1988, IMC connects manufacturers with regional, state, and national resources to foster innovation and growth. The center serves manufacturers in various Pennsylvania counties and is backed by federal and state programs dedicated to industrial development.
