ECL has revealed its groundbreaking project, TerraSite-TX1, the world's first 1GW off-grid, hydrogen-powered AI factory data center located near Houston, Texas. This innovative data center aims to cater to the increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions in the tech industry, particularly for energy-intensive AI operations. The first phase of TerraSite-TX1 is expected to be completed by summer 2025, with an estimated investment of $450 million, providing 50MW of data center capacity primarily for cloud and AI cloud operators.
