Hyundai has recently introduced the Hyundai Initium hydrogen fuel cell SUV, a vehicle that showcases both impressive performance and retro design elements. This new model is positioned as a successor to the current Hyundai Nexo, offering more than 400 miles of range and 201 horsepower while emitting zero tailpipe emissions. The SUV is designed with inspiration from the Hyundai N Vision 74 Coupe concept car, featuring a headlight blade, quad headlight setup, and a unique quad-square grid motif in the accessory lighting. Hyundai has incorporated a '80s-themed design approach with elements like a single blade shape wrapping around the greenhouse and interesting rear side window design. The rear of the SUV continues the design language with a grid square pattern for the taillights and a distinct acute triangle shape in the bodywork. Notably, the vehicle includes two fuel doors; one for hydrogen refueling and another for Vehicle-2-Load charging capability, allowing it to power external accessories as a hydrogen generator. The interior of the SUV, although not yet revealed, is expected to offer a spacious back seat with wide-opening rear doors. Scheduled for production in the first half of 2025, this innovative concept from Hyundai is set to make waves in the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle market. The Hyundai Initium will be showcased at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month, providing a closer look at the future of hydrogen-powered SUVs.
