At the IAA show in Hannover, Hyvia, a joint venture between Renault and Plug, introduced the prototype of their future Master H2-Tech, a hydrogen-powered van that presents significant advancements in performance. Compared to its predecessor, the new Master H2-Tech offers an impressive 700 km range, a substantial 75% increase, as per the WLTP cycle. This enhancement is attributed to various factors, including a 47 kW fuel cell developed by Plug, fuel tanks from OPmobility and Forvia, and the novel Dual Power propulsion chain. Unlike previous adaptations, this model benefits from a new multi-energy platform, ensuring optimal energy efficiency for the battery and fuel cell without compromising on load volume or payload. Hyvia's CEO, Nicolas Champetier, expressed pride in the collective effort behind this innovation, achieved in collaboration with Renault and Plug over a span of three years. He highlighted that the Master H2-Tech surpasses its battery-electric counterpart and Stellantis vans in range and efficiency. Heinz-Jürgen Löw, Renault Brand Light Commercial Vehicle & President of the Supervisory Board, HYVIA, emphasized the vehicle's suitability for professionals dedicated to energy transition due to its unprecedented autonomy and design. The prototype will also feature at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, showcasing the future of hydrogen-powered vehicles. The Master H2-Tech's exceptional range, performance, and energy efficiency mark a significant milestone in the automotive industry's shift toward sustainable technologies.
