South Korea and the Czech Republic recently engaged in a high-level bilateral supply chain and energy dialogue to enhance collaboration in various sectors, with a particular focus on eco-friendly energy and nuclear power plants. The meeting between Industry Minister Ahn Duk-geun and Czech Minister Lukas Vlcek in Seoul marked the second bilateral dialogue, showcasing progress in negotiations for a Korean-led consortium to build two nuclear plants in Czech's Dukovany region, signifying a significant $16.6 billion investment. Both parties discussed expanding cooperation in trade, supply chain, advanced industries, and nuclear energy talent development. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed for collaboration in the semiconductor industry, while committing to advancing clean hydrogen energy technologies. The discussions emphasized the importance of research and development projects and the establishment of cooperation centers in battery, future mobility, and robotics. The joint hosting of a business conference aimed to promote bilateral investment, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of a strategic partnership between South Korea and the Czech Republic.
