The Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Association (PNWH2) and MHI Hydrogen Infrastructure's Boardman Hydrogen Hub project have signed a subrecipient agreement to advance clean hydrogen infrastructure and technologies in the region. This collaboration formalizes nearly two years of working together, enabling MHI H2I's project development efforts and access to federal funding from the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations. The PNWH2 Hub, part of the DOE's H2Hubs Program, aims to decarbonize the U.S. energy sector by creating a network of clean hydrogen producers and consumers. The project consists of nodes across Washington, Oregon, and Montana, focusing on sectors like transportation, port operations, and power generation. Node 6, led by MHI H2I, aims to develop hydrogen for electricity generation and supply it to other nodes for various purposes. This collaboration highlights a commitment to advancing the hydrogen economy in the U.S. and establishing the Pacific Northwest as a leader in green hydrogen production. The partnership seeks to innovate and collaborate across the industry to achieve a carbon-free energy future, creating new energy manufacturing jobs in the region and contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions in the country.
