Rheinmetall, a technology group, has successfully secured a significant order worth €26 million from a renowned Asian engine manufacturer for the supply of high-voltage coolant pumps. The initial order is for a large quantity of CWA2000 pumps to be used in an 800V fuel cell architecture in small vans, trucks, and stationary power plants. This strategic partnership follows two years of collaboration and development work, underscoring Rheinmetall's commitment to advancing green technology for a sustainable future. The CWA2000 pump's design, featuring a wet-running system and specially optimized bearings for cooling water applications, ensures minimal wear over time, contributing to long-term efficiency. Production is set to commence in 2027 and continue until 2031 at the Hartha plant. The 800V technology not only enhances everyday usability but also doubles the charging power compared to the 400V level by reducing electrical losses. This innovative technology enables the use of thinner lines, leading to space and weight savings, while also reducing the need for precious metals like copper. Furthermore, the improved cooling system efficiency allows for a smaller yet more effective cooling system.
