The existing business ecosystem in Oulu, combined with the region's significant investments in research and development, offers Verso Energy potential customers and subcontractors for its proposed plant. The Port of Oulu's integration into the TEN-T core transport network, facilitating connections through rail and road links, is seen as advantageous for the project's global reach. Additionally, the competitive electricity prices in Finland, particularly in the Oulu region, and its leading position in renewable electricity production, further enhance the project's feasibility. Gasgrid Finland's plans to establish a hydrogen transport infrastructure in Oulu to link local production with other parts of Finland and Europe align with the growing interest and initiatives in hydrogen projects in the region.
