Fortum, a Nordic energy company, has partnered with Finnish green hydrogen company P2X Solutions to ramp up green hydrogen production in Harjavalta, Finland. The five-year Power Purchase Agreement ensures that P2X Solutions can produce green hydrogen according to strict EU criteria by sourcing power from Fortum's renewable energy portfolio in Finland. The agreement, which includes a Guarantee of Origins, runs until the end of 2029. This collaboration is a crucial step towards decarbonisation, aligning with EU regulations that mandate renewable energy production and consumption for green hydrogen to be matched on a monthly basis until 2029. By leveraging Fortum's renewable energy, P2X Solutions aims to provide clients with the green hydrogen necessary for transitioning to cleaner production methods.
