The French Ministry of Economy and Industry has adjusted its National Hydrogen Strategy, scaling down hydrogen production targets for 2030 and 2035 due to market delays in the low-carbon H2 sector. Despite the revisions, France remains dedicated to promoting low-carbon hydrogen with a substantial €4 billion subsidy package. This funding aims to bolster the commercialization and industrialization of early-stage hydrogen ventures, facilitate the establishment of regulatory frameworks, and enhance the infrastructure required for hydrogen projects. Furthermore, the country intends to reinstate funding programs concentrating on hydrogen research and development while initiating new project solicitations to boost the adoption of hydrogen-powered utility vehicles. Notably, France's hydrogen strategy has already propelled over 150 hydrogen projects forward since its inception in 2020, showcasing the nation's commitment to hydrogen as a key player in its energy transition.
