Future Use of Energy in Louisiana (FUEL) recently awarded $175,000 in grants to Louisiana energy startups through its inaugural Super Pitch competition. The competition featured four companies presenting their innovative solutions for a sustainable energy future. Zentech Concrete Solutions, the first-place winner, offers a protective pavement coating with zero or negative carbon emissions. Encore CO2, the second-place winner, is recycling CO2 into ethanol for various applications. NovaSpark Energy, the third-place winner, developed a mobile atmospheric hydrogen generator for on-site hydrogen production. MaxBoring, the fourth-place winner, converts waste gas into electricity. The competition highlighted Louisiana's potential as an innovator in the energy industry and provided resources for startups to accelerate their growth. FUEL aims to position Louisiana as a global leader in energy innovation by supporting entrepreneurs in bringing competitive, Louisiana-made energy products to the market.
