Greenko, an energy transition and decarbonisation solutions company, is spearheading a major Integrated Renewable Energy Project in Pinnapuram near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of USD 4.2 billion. This project comprises 4,000 MW of solar power, 1,000 MW of wind power, and 1,680 MW of pumped hydro capacity. The stored energy of 10,080 MWh per day will support the production of green hydrogen, steel, and aluminium, marking a significant milestone in clean energy generation. Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Joshi, lauded the project for its role in decarbonising industries and acknowledged the state government's support. Anil Chalamalasetty, the Group CEO and MD of Greenko, emphasized the economic benefits and job creation potential of the project. The initiative is projected to reduce 3.3 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, improve India's energy security, and align with global decarbonisation efforts.
