Greenway Technologies, based in Arlington, Texas, has entered into a strategic agreement with GME Hydro LP to provide its patented natural gas to hydrogen conversion process. This partnership involves the purchase and implementation of two H-Reformer™ units by GME at its Johnstown, PA facility. The H-Reformer™ units have the capacity to produce up to 20,000 KG of hydrogen daily, which will fuel reciprocating generators for electricity generation, initially reaching 10 MW. Notably, these units are scalable, offering flexibility for small to large hydrogen production needs.
The joint efforts of Greenway Technologies and GME Hydro LP aim to establish an on-site low-cost hydrogen production solution with minimal carbon emissions. By leveraging on-site fossil and renewable natural gas sources, the project is expected to be eligible for Federal Clean Air H2 Credits. The collaboration also includes the optimization of Greenway's technology to separate carbon from hydrogen production by-product, CO2, resulting in valuable liquified carbon for additional revenue.
Kevin Jones, President of Greenway Technologies, highlighted the significance of this partnership in advancing hydrogen as a fuel. The focus is on making hydrogen production more accessible and cost-effective by utilizing abundant natural gas supplies at various locations.
