Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu marked a significant milestone in Himachal Pradesh's renewable energy journey by laying the foundation stone for North India's pioneering 1 MW Green Hydrogen Plant in Dabhota. The project, a collaboration between HPPCL and Oil India Limited, signifies the state's dedication to sustainable energy solutions. With a focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the plant will produce green hydrogen through electrolysis using renewable power sources. The initiative supports Himachal Pradesh's goal of becoming India's first Green Energy State by 2026. The plant, set to be established at a cost of Rs. 9.04 crore, will have a daily production capacity of 423 kilograms of green hydrogen, contributing to the state's renewable energy targets. The government's broader vision for green energy is evident in its partnerships and initiatives, such as the MoU with Oil India Limited for the development of solar energy, green hydrogen, geothermal energy, and compressed biogas. The project highlights the commitment to sustainable energy and underscores Himachal Pradesh's leadership in renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
