The Greater Houston Partnership and the Center for Houston’s Future (CHF) took a significant step in advancing collaboration and strengthening ties within the global clean hydrogen ecosystem by leading a delegation to Japan and South Korea. The mission, aimed at boosting clean hydrogen production, included key moments such as the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Brett Perlman of CHF and the leader of the Japanese Hydrogen Association. This marked a strategic move to enhance collaborations in clean hydrogen production. Delegation members had the opportunity to tour cutting-edge hydrogen facilities in Japan and South Korea and engage in discussions with high-level government officials. The visit also included participation in H2 Week 2024 in Seoul, Korea, connecting with government officials and industry innovators. Houston's Gulf Coast region, designated as one of the nation's hydrogen hubs, is positioned to play a pivotal role in the clean hydrogen sector, with support from the HyVelocity Hydrogen Hub receiving substantial funding. This growth is expected to create thousands of jobs, emphasizing the importance of international partnerships for sustaining and accelerating industry development.
