Onsite gas generation specialist HyGear has introduced the Hy.GEN® hydrogen production system for Buse Group in the UK. This system, based on steam methane reforming (SMR) technology, emphasizes efficient heat management to reduce energy loss during hydrogen production. Henk Kleef, CEO of HyGear, highlighted the system's significance in meeting the demand for high-quality process gases while eliminating transportation costs. BUSE Gases, through Dimitris Sfikas, its Managing Director, expressed the benefits of implementing the Hy.GEN® system in enhancing their offerings for hydrogen and specialty gases, leading to increased business sustainability and revenue. The establishment of the joint venture company BUSE HyGear in 2019 further solidified the collaboration between the two companies, enabling hydrogen production and distribution. BUSE HyGear's hydrogen production plant in West Bromwich, operational since 2020, received an environmental permit in August 2024, showcasing ongoing operations.
