Element Fuels Holdings, LLC is embarking on a pioneering project to construct a hydrogen-powered refinery and combined-cycle power plant within the Port of Brownsville, Texas. The complex is designed to produce and recycle hydrogen using advanced technologies to generate cleaner, higher-quality fuels such as gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, along with electricity for commercial and consumer use. With an expected operational date in 2027, the refinery will be capable of producing 160,000 barrels of fuel per day, significantly reducing carbon emissions. By utilizing domestically sourced shale oil, the facility will produce low-carbon intensity fuels and enough low-carbon hydrogen to meet all its fuel needs, effectively eliminating CO2 emissions.
