KT Tech Awarded Contract to Design Hydrogen Production Unit for Dung Quat Refinery in Vietnam
Key Ideas
- KT Tech to design a hydrogen production unit for Dung Quat Refinery in Vietnam under a PDP contract with BSR.
- NX Reform technology to enable cost-effective hydrogen production and carbon footprint reduction with CO2 capture technology.
- Vietnamese Government aims to produce 100,000-500,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year by 2030 and 10-20 million tonnes per annum by 2050.
- The contract highlights KT Tech's expertise in upgrading production plants for efficiency and lower consumptions, as stated by MAIRE CEO Alessandro Bernini.
KT Tech has been awarded a contract to design a hydrogen production unit for the Dung Quat Refinery in Vietnam under a Process Design Package (PDP) contract with Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR). The hydrogen production unit will be based on NX Reform technology, with a capacity of 22,675 metres per hour, offering cost-effective production and the potential to reduce the carbon footprint through CO2 capture. Additionally, the Vietnamese Government has ambitious plans to produce 100,000-500,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year by 2030 and 10-20 million tonnes per annum by 2050, utilizing renewable energy and carbon capture. The contract reflects KT Tech's ability to enhance efficiency and achieve lower consumptions in production plants, as praised by MAIRE CEO Alessandro Bernini. This development aligns with Vietnam's hydrogen energy development strategy and signifies a step towards sustainable energy practices in the region.
