Latvenergo, Latvia's national electricity company, and H2Pro, an Israeli innovator in green hydrogen production, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore the deployment of H2Pro's decoupled electrolysis technology in Latvia. The partnership aims to accelerate the use of green hydrogen as a critical tool for industrial decarbonization and energy security. In phase one, Latvenergo and H2Pro will assess the feasibility of piloting an electrolyzer in the 5 MW range and integrating the technology with Latvia's renewable energy sources. H2Pro's CEO highlighted the importance of proving technical feasibility and establishing a cost-effective green hydrogen economy in Europe. The partnership reflects Latvenergo's dedication to clean energy innovation and aligns with Latvia's goals of energy independence and decarbonization. The Latvian Ministry of Economy expressed strong support for the initiative, emphasizing the strategic importance of Israeli-Latvian cooperation in clean energy. H2Pro's advanced electrolysis technology, which separates hydrogen and oxygen generation, aims to reduce capital and operating costs while maintaining high efficiency.
