Lhyfe and Fives have joined forces through a memorandum of understanding to offer a comprehensive decarbonised solution for industries, focusing on hydrogen production and its utilization in combustion processes. This collaboration aims to accelerate the energy transition by promoting the adoption of hydrogen in various industrial sectors without the necessity of extensive equipment modifications. The combustion of hydrogen, noted for its zero CO2 emissions, is highlighted as a promising approach to reduce the carbon footprint of industrial activities. For instance, the transition from natural gas to hydrogen in a secondary aluminium furnace could result in a significant annual reduction of CO2 emissions. The partnership between Lhyfe and Fives targets industries like metals, glass, and cement, along with selected industrial heating processes in Europe and North America. Matthieu Guesné, the Founder and CEO of Lhyfe, expressed enthusiasm about the mature hydrogen solutions available in the market, emphasizing the importance of such agreements to drive the transition towards cleaner industrial practices. Frédéric Thrum, Deputy General Manager of Fives, highlighted the company's commitment to supporting industrial decarbonisation and the adoption of hydrogen through innovative combustion systems.
