Lhyfe, a pioneer in green and renewable hydrogen production, is commencing the large-scale production of green hydrogen in Le Cheylas, France. The site, named Lhyfe Le Cheylas, is set to become the largest in France with an installed electrolysis capacity of 10 MW, producing up to 4 tonnes of green hydrogen per day. This capacity is a significant increase from the initial plan of 2 tonnes per day. The project will contribute to decarbonizing mobility and industry in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, focusing on heavy transport and various industrial sectors. Lhyfe has signed a ten-year sales contract with HYmpulsion to supply hydrogen stations in the Alps, emphasizing the region's commitment to a renewable and low-carbon hydrogen economy. The project is supported by European funding, including the Just Transition Fund and the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, amounting to over €6 million in subsidies. Mr. Kovacs, Vice President for the Environment of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, highlighted the region's dedication to hydrogen initiatives. Overall, the initiative showcases the region's strategic focus on sustainable development, job creation, and transitioning to a carbon-neutral economy.
