Lhyfe, known for its expertise in green and renewable hydrogen production, has established a partnership with Deutsche Bahn to construct and manage a green hydrogen production facility in Tübingen. This plant, situated within the innovation hub of DB Energie, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn, boasts an annual production capacity of up to 30 tons, supported by an installed electrolysis capacity of 1 MW. The electricity utilized in this process is sourced from Deutsche Bahn's green electricity portfolio, emphasizing the commitment to sustainability. Furthermore, at the Tübingen innovation hub, DB Energie is actively engaging in testing novel technologies for sustainable rail energy supply through initiatives like the 'H2goesRail' project. As part of this endeavor, the green hydrogen produced will power a climate-neutral hydrogen train, set to commence operations this year on a designated test route in Baden-Württemberg. The route, spanning Tübingen, Horb, and Pforzheim, will serve as a testing ground for the feasibility and efficiency of hydrogen-powered rail transportation, showcasing the innovation and progress in the realm of green technology.
