Feasibility studies presented at the 'LUMIC Project: Roadmap on Connectivity in Malaysia' event highlighted Lumut Maritime Industrial City's (LUMIC) potential to become a key player in Malaysia's maritime sector. Authored by the Port of Antwerp-Bruges International (PoABI) and the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk), these studies delve into Lumut's transformation into a green logistics and maritime hub, focusing on hydrogen production, renewable energy, and sustainable manufacturing. The studies aim to turn Lumut Port into a multi-purpose and container port along with a cutting-edge green industrial and logistics complex. With an expected investment of €15 billion and the creation of 55,000 jobs over 25-30 years, the LUMIC project is set to be a significant economic driver, attracting both foreign and domestic investment.
